Ms. Anwesha Ghosh, is currently an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Law, at Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law. Before joining RGNUL Patiala she was a UGC-sponsored Senior Research Fellow (SRF) at the Central University of Punjab, India. Her topic of research is “Legislative Governance Towards Gender Diversity in Indian Corporate Boards: Review of Institutional Factors and Best Practices”. She has completed the pre-submission of her Ph.D. thesis to the Department of Law, Central University of Punjab, and is now heading towards the final submission of her Ph.D. thesis. Her current Ph.D. research majorly focuses on the pivotal role of women directors in Indian companies, advocating for gender diversity and inclusive corporate governance.


Ms. Ghosh achieved a University Gold Medal during her LL.B. degree at Haldia Law College affiliated with Vidyasagar University, West Bengal, India. Her academic excellence continued with a University Gold Medal for her outstanding performance in LL.M. and an Endowment Medal for securing the highest marks in Corporate and Commercial Laws from the National University of Study and Research in Law, Ranchi, India. Ms. Ghosh had previously worked as a Research Fellow at Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar, where she contributed significantly to a project addressing the needs of children living with HIV/AIDS in Gujarat, India. Additionally, her role as a Field Investigator at KIIT University, Bhubaneswar, India for an ICSSR-supported project, focusing on the criminal justice system’s response to rape in West Bengal, India demonstrates her commitment to addressing pressing societal issues.


Ms. Ghosh’s scholarly articles are published in reputable peer-reviewed journals indexed by UGC Care and Scopus. She has also authored the book ‘An Introspection of Corporate Criminal Liability in India,’ available through outlets like Amazon and Flipkart. Ms. Ghosh has also actively contributed to national and international seminars, including a notable in-person presentation in Turkiye in 2023 on “Boardroom Diversity: A Deep Dive into Representation of Women”. Her papers have fetched recognition in conferences, with best paper presentation awards received for presentations titled “From Token to Trailblazer: Empowering Women’s Leadership in the Corporate through Thoughtful Gender Quota Strategies” and “LGBT+ Inclusion in the Workplace: A Human Rights Imperative” from National Law University Odisha and Jindal Global Law School, Sonipat, respectively.


Ms. Ghosh has previously served as a lecturer for LL.B. and LL.M. students in the past. She has also served as a judge in several moot court competitions, providing invaluable insights and guidance to aspiring legal professionals. She has been a resource person for numerous webinars, and seminars further establishing her expertise in the field. Her expertise is in Business Law, Women’s and Children’s Rights, and Human Rights.
