About RGNUL
The Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab, Patiala established in the year 2006 has taken a significant lead in the global academic domains. The Institution has got its name highlighted in the national as well as international streams by establishing specialization Research Centres like Centre for Consumer Protection Law and Advocacy (CCPLA); Centre for Advanced Studies in Criminal Law (CASCAL); Centre for Advanced Studies in Humanitarian Law (CASH); Bureau of Information for Studies Abroad (BISA). University has also established RGNUL Institute for Competitive Examination (RICE) to prepare aspirants of Civil services. Directorate of Distance Education (DODE) aims at excelling in distant education in various fields of study. The research aptitude inculcated through publication of the members of faculty and students has given a distinction to the institution. Research Degrees Programmes like M.Phil., Ph.D., and LL.D. are also being undertaken. On the whole, the institution is blessed with an august academic at atmosphere, endowed with professionalism and perfectionism.

About IGNOU
IGNOU was established in 1985 by an Act of Indian Parliament to democratize higher education. The University provides cost-effective quality education to large sections of India population. It adopts a learner-centric approach with a policy of openness and flexibility in terms of entry qualifications, duration, pace and place of learning for successful completion of programme.
The University currently offers 138 programmes of study to over 1.8 million students in India and 32 country abroad making it the largest single University in the world. IGNOU has established a network of 58 Regional Centres and more than 1804 study centres all over the country with 46 overseas centres. The academic programmes of the University have multi-media support with state of art facilities for the production of audio/video programmes and their dissemination through radio and television. The University also uses interactive radio counseling as well as tele-conferencing to provide interactivity in the teaching-learning process. The University has 24 hours educational TV channel and educational satellite, EDUSAT.

About School of Law (SOL)
The School of Law (SOL) established in 2005 by IGNOU aims at achieving excellence in the field of Legal Education. Legal Education is a contemporary area of cognitive thrust, whereby many professional seek expertise to attain a flourishing career. SOL has initiated various Post Graduate Diploma Programmes in various fields of Law. There courses shall be undertaken as distance education programmes and shall be run through various Programme Study Centres of IGNOU.

RGNUL feels pride in establishing the region's first School of Law (SOL) in its premises. The courses offered by School of Law (SOL) are:
1. PG Certificate Programme in Cyber Laws
2. PG Certificate Programme in Patents.
3. Professional Diploma in Legislative Drafting
4. Diploma in Paralegal Education
5. PG Diploma in Criminal Justice
6. PG Diploma in Agricultural Law

The School of Law shall also offer Under Graduate Porgrammes in Paralegal Education; and Post graduate Programmes like Masters Programmes in Criminal Justice and Agricultural Law, Masters Programme in Intellectual Property Rights in Collaboration with Queensland University of Technology. (QUT), Australia.

Post-Graduate Certificate Programme in Cyber Laws (PGCCL)
In the contemporary era of Globalization, the cyber world comes at the apex. Automation in pre-requisite for Globalization, but at hs also forwarded innumerable complexities and has put forth a need of management of the social fabric too. Cyber world is entrenched with criminal tendencies which mainly aim at materialistic growth. Hence, there emerges a need to strengthen the mechanism to create biotechnology related regulation and to make these regulations more known and strongly applied cyber crime is emerging as a crucial area of research in modern times and is being interpreted as an inter-disciplinary content of study.

PGCCL shall disperse the knowledge of Cyber Law and create and develop expertise in the Legal practitioners to deal with frauds and deception in cyber world. The main target areas of study are child pornography, Internet and Sexuality related social disorders, Right to Privacy, Data Security and Data Protection.

The Programme is of 16 credits and consists of four courses, that is 4 credits each course respectively.

Course 1 Cyberspace Technology and Social Issues
Course 2 Regulation of Cyberspace
Course 3 Commerce and Cyberspace
Course 4 Privacy and Data Protection

The Duration of Programme is minimum 6 months Medium of Instruction shall be 'English'

Law Students, Advocates, E-Commerce Professionals, Company Secretaries, Charted Accountants, Teachers in Law and Computer fields, Police Officials, Data Entry Operators, Information Technology Professionals, Academician and Researchers.

ELIGIBILITY
Graduate in any discipline or fourth and fifth year of Five Year integrated LL.B. Course who have passed three years

OPEN DISTANCE LEARNING (ODL)
The Counselling session for ODL will be conducted at the Programme Study Centre. The Students Hand Book and Common Prospectus can be obtained from PIC Programme Study Centre, RGNUL on any working day on payment of Rs. 100/- cash.
