Associate Professor of Law & Librarian In-charge

Dr. Geetika Walia is working as Associate Professor of Law at the University. She is the Coordinator of the RGNUL Moot Court Committee, Coordinator, Centre for Advanced Studies in Labour Welfare and member, Editorial Board, RLR. Dr. Geetika is also acting as Academic Counsellor, IGNOU School of Law, RGNUL, Punjab. She has also provided e- content to the MHRD-UGC, E-PG Pathshala project. She is giving talks in the field of Criminology under the DTH Channel 06 Of Swayam Prabha, Ministry Of Education, GOI.


She has two self-authored books namely “Crime of Aggression: An Analytical Study under the International Criminal Law” and “Contours of Fair Dealing: An Analytical Study”.  She has to her credit six edited books pertaining to IPR’s, Competition Law, Right to Information and Women Empowerment. She has published papers in various Journals of national/international repute. Dr. Geetika has organized various national and international seminars, conferences and workshops. She has delivered expert talks at several universities. Dr. Geetika has supervised around 15 students at the Masters level and presently she is guiding 3 Ph.D. students under her supervision.

 

Some of her achievements are that she was selected by Indian Army Services Selection Board for the post of Legal Officer in Judge Advocate General branch (JAG) in Nov, 2005 at all India level. Further she was the Member of the Selection Committee to appoint Director of Factories, Punjab Public Service Commission, Punjab. Further she was selected as a delegate (Faculty Advisor) to the 56th session of Harvard National Model United Nations held at Boston, U.S.A.
