Dr. Sukhwinder Kaur Virk is an AssistantProfessor of Law at Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab. She joinedRGNUL, Punjab in 2011. She has twelve years teaching experience of UG and PGclasses in RGNUL. She did M.A. (Pol. Sc.), LL.M. and Ph.D. in Law inarea of International Criminal Law from Punjabi University Patiala. Dr.Virk also did Post Graduate Diploma in Human Rights from Indian Institute ofHuman Rights, New Delhi and also did Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling andBehavior Modification (PGDCBM) from Guru Jambeshwar University ofScience and Technology, Hisar. Her area of Research is International CriminalLaw, International Humanitarian Law and International Human Rights Law.She has taught across a wide range of subjects. Her area of interest is PublicInternational Law, International Criminal Law, Conflict of Laws (PrivateInternational Law), Property Law, Law of Torts and Administrative Law. DrVirk is involved as faculty coordinator of Legal Aid Committee. She has alsobeen associated with coordinating the research Projects for the First FourYears of B.A., LL.B. from last three years. Dr Virk also working as the FacultyCoordinator of the Centre for Advanced Studies in Human Rights, RGNUL, Punjab. Sheis editor of CASIHR Journal of Human Rights Practice. She has supervised dozensof dissertations and Term Papers of LL.M. students. She has Organised aNational Essay Writing Competition, 2016 entitled “Exploitation of Labour: Socio-Legal Aspects”, a One Day Workshop on “Right to Information: Practical Aspects” underCASLW on 21 April2016 and a One Day Lecture on “DrugDe-Addiction” on 8th November 2016 for 1st year studentsof RGNUL, Punjab. Dr Virk has published 18 papers in different journals ofnational repute and books. She has editeda book entitled “Exploitation of Labour: Socio-Legal Aspects” ISBN:978-93-84166-20-5, edited in 2016, published by Centre for Advanced Studies of Labour Welfare(CASLW) of RGNUL,Punjab. She has adjudged eighteen national andinternational moot court competitions in RGNUL and other institutions. She alsodelivered five lectures on human rights, women’s rights and Drug addiction ondifferent platforms. Dr Virk chaired and co-chaired one and half dozen nationaland international seminars and conferences at RGNUL. She has attended andparticipated one dozen workshops and faculty development and training programs.Dr Virk has presented two dozen papers on national and international seminarsand conferences.
