DR. TANYA MANDER
Assistant Professor of English
Tanya Mander has been associated with teaching English Literature and Language to law students for over 15 years. She has drafted the course curriculum for law students to explore and engage with all dimensions of language learning, as language and literature stimulate critical thinking and challenge our perception of culture, society, and their various structures: law and literature; linguistics; poetry; writing skills and grammar, helping students to construct and deconstruct the context and meaning of all our experiences.
Her research reflects the aim to unravel, and explore the intersections of literature with various critical literary theories; and draw multiple parallel connections between art and life (society). Her research interests look at contemporary paradigms of literary studies that make space for significant reflection of both ‘shape’ and ‘picture’ of life. Dr. Mander’s areas of interest are Contemporary British Theatre, Dystopian Literature, Gender Studies and Literary Theory. She has 15 research papers to her credit in International and National peer‐reviewed, refereed journals (UGC/CARE listed). She has presented papers, chaired sessions in International and National conferences, workshops and seminars. She has been resource person for various faculty development programs; and writing workshops. She contributes to newspapers: The Tribune, The Hindu (Blog) The Thread. Dr. Mander’s primary focus has been to build the idea of research as a permeable membrane between theory and practice, explore boundaries and underscore contradictions and ambiguities.
Dr Mander has been associated with the RGNUL since 2007 and has taken on number of administrative and academic initiatives: Coordinator, National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). self-study Report under various parameters duly prepared. The University accredited with A+ grade. (First National Law School to be accredited); Coordinator, RGNUL Internal Quality Assurance Cell (2011-2017), student feedback mechanism initiated among other initiatives; Editor of RGNUL Law Review (RLR) (2011- 2017); Member (Statutory Bodies); Coordinator RGNUL Ph.D Programme (2010-2017).
She is guiding research on the topic, ‘Literature and Changing Contours of Feminist Consciousness in Selected Texts of Charlotte Perkins Gilman, Marjane Satrapi, Randa Abdel-Fattah and Meena Kandasamy’.
