DR. BRINDPREET KAUR
Assistant Professor of Economics
Dr. Brindpreet Kaur is an Assistant Professor of Economics at Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab. She is a product of Punjab University Chandigarh (Graduation and Post Graduation). She is UGC – NET qualified and did her M. Phil in Economics in the year 2009. She completed her doctorate in Economics from Punjabi University, Patiala and was awarded her degree in 2017. Her topic of research was – Pattern and Structure of Labour Employment in Punjab Industry: A Case Study of Ludhiana.
Her primary areas of interest are Microeconomics, Macroeconomics and Labour Economics. Dr. Kaur has a total teaching experience of about 20 years and she has to her credit, five books, two of which are authored and the other three edited books. She has written extensively on Development Economics and the issue of Small Industries in India. She has also several research papers that have an interface of Economics with various subjects like Law, Sociology, etc. She has presented papers at various seminars and conferences at the national and international forum and a paper of hers was recently accepted for presentation at the 8th Regulating for Decent Work Conference organized by the International Labor Organization, Geneva during July 2023. She has delivered guest lectures at different occasions and was also invited as a keynote speaker at the International Conference organized by Xiangtan University, China and was on the panel of Plenary talk on Rights of Transgenders at National University of Law, Shimla.
Apart from her academic achievements, Dr. Kaur has been heading the School of Agricultural Law and Economics (SALE) and also a member of the Centre for Business Laws and Taxation (CBLT) at RGNUL. She has been ardently contributing to the administrative work of her university. She has been actively engaged with tasks like the conduct of CLAT 2016, NIRF ranking of RGNUL, preparation of the Annual Reports of the IQAC for NAAC, etc. She is presently the member of the Curriculum Development Committee of RGNUL and is also the MOOCs Coordinator for the UG students at the university.
