The society has turned towards a world of Sports, Gaming, Entertainment, & Media, and the laws governing this area have been gaining increased importance law. It has caught the eyes of various professionals in the recent past, and now it has caught our attention as well.
The Centre for Excellence in Sports and Entertainment Law under the aegis of The Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab, has been initiated with the objective of facilitating enriching conversations and expanding on existing knowledge related to these new legal avenues. Following the idea of 3D i.e., Dialogue, Discourse and Discussion, the Centre aims to take various initiatives in the near future to provide a platform for activities related to sports and entertainment law. Furthermore, the Centre endeavours to collaborate with legal luminaries who have an expertise in the said domains.
The centre has launched its official logo too, through which, we have tried to capture the essence of Sports and Entertainment Laws along with affirming our principle of adapting to the ever-changing nature of laws and the society. The forward button in the logo symbolizes the futuristic value that the sports and entertainment law contain, whereas the sprinting athlete signifies the rapid evolving nature of these laws. Further, the film reel showcases the interesting developments and the impact that these laws have on the general public.
The Centre for Excellence in Sports and Entertainment Law under the able guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Anand Pawar, the Faculty Coordinator aspires to bring sports and entertainment laws to the mainstream of legal discourse and plans to ensure a holistic approach to achieve the same.
