DR. JAISMEEN KAUR
COUNSELOR
Jaismeen Kaur graduated with honours in psychology from MCM DAV College in Chandigarh and with a master's degree master's degree in counselling, clinical psychology, positive psychology, and social psychology from Dav 10 Chandigarh. She has a postgraduate diploma in counselling and behaviour modification under her belt. She is a certified reality therapist from the William Glasser Institute in the US. Her Ph.D. (psychology) thesis, titled "Efficacy of Reality Therapy in Recoupment from Empty Nest Syndrome," has been submitted.
She has given presentations at both national and international conferences. One of them is St. Anne's College, Oxford University, Oxford, London. She won the Deepak Bhatt Award for best paper presentation at the IAAP's 56th National and 25th International Conference (18-20 February 2020), as well as first place in a poster competition at a national seminar hosted by the Department of Psychology at Punjabi University in Patiala. She received the Anti-Corruption Foundation's 5th Global Star Award for providing free mental health services during COVID-19. She has worked as a resource person in a government college in Mohali, as an assistant professor at Chandigarh University, and a school counsellor.
She interned at Mohali's Fortis Hospital, Chandigarh's Neuropsychiatry-Drug Rehabilitation Centre, and Panchkula's Arya Hospital. She has worked with a variety of organisations, schools, and colleges to deliver workshops on a variety of topics, including mental health, suicide prevention, anger management, coping with mental health challenges during Covid-19, and smart phone addiction.
