Ms. Sonika joined Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab in the year 2020 as an Assistant Professor of law. Prior to this, she has taught at JEMTEC School of law, Greater Noida (Affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, New Delhi). She has completed her BA.L.L.B (Hons.) from Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University, Lucknow in 2017. She has completed LL.M. from the Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab, with a specialization in Constitutional Law in 2018. She has cleared the National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) in 2018. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. on the topic ‘Food Security in India: A Socio-legal Study with special reference to the State of Uttar Pradesh’.

Her areas of research and teaching interest include Constitutional Law, Emerging trends in Criminal law, Human Rights, Constitutionalism, Criminal Justice Administration, Women & Child Laws, Environmental law etc.

A strong orientation towards child rights and an eagerness to work for their welfare encouraged her to assist the Uttar Pradesh State Child Rights Commission (UPSCPCR), Govt. of UP, Lucknow in the drafting of the Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Report during her graduation.

She has also been very active in organizing academic events and has also adjudged various Moot Court and Mediation competitions.

Apart from academics, she has corporate experience of internships in the Tier-I Corporate Law Firms-Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas, Laksmikumaran & Sridharan Attorneys, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas; Government departments-Law Commission of India & Competition Commission of India and the Offices of Senior Advocates. 

Presently in her Administrative capacity, she is working as Project Coordinator for first to fourth-year BA-LL.B (Hons.) FYIC and Faculty Co-Coordinator of the Research Centre for Advanced Studies in Labour and Welfare (CASLW).
